How It Works
LibertyBid connects homeowners with local businesses for home and property services — private bids, direct communication, and no pressure.
For customers
- 1
Post your project
Describe the job, add photos, and set your budget and timeline. It takes a few minutes and there's never a charge to post.
- 2
Compare private bids
Local businesses submit bids only you can see. You can message any business that's bid to ask questions before you decide.
- 3
Accept a bid
Choose the business you want to hire. The moment you accept, you and that business can see each other's contact info to coordinate the job — bids from other businesses close out.
- 4
Get it done, then review
Work directly with the business to get the job done. When it's finished, mark the project complete from your dashboard and leave a public review.
For businesses
- 1
Sign up and choose a plan
Create a business account and pick a flat monthly subscription. No pay-per-lead charges and no commission on jobs you win, ever.
- 2
Browse open jobs
See jobs posted in your area with full details and exact map locations, in list or map view. Filter by category, city, ZIP, or budget.
- 3
Submit bids
Send a bid with your price and proposal. Each plan includes a set number of bids per billing period.
- 4
Win the job and connect
If a customer accepts your bid, you get their contact info and can message them directly to schedule and complete the work.
Frequently asked questions
Is LibertyBid free for customers?+
Yes. Posting a project, comparing bids, messaging businesses, and hiring are always free for customers.
How do businesses pay?+
Businesses choose a flat monthly subscription plan. There's no charge per lead and no commission taken on jobs won — plans differ only in how many bids are included per billing period. See the Pricing page for current plans.
When does a business get my contact info or address?+
Only after you accept their bid. Before that, businesses can see your job details and general location, but not your exact address or contact info.
Can I message a business before choosing them?+
Yes. Once a business has placed a bid on your project, you can message them directly to ask questions.
What if I don't want to hire anyone from the bids I received?+
You can cancel the project at any time. A cancelled project can be relisted as a fresh listing to collect new bids without retyping everything.
Can I request a bid directly from a specific business?+
Yes. From any business's profile you can request a bid directly, instead of waiting for bids to come in on an open listing.
How do I mark a job finished?+
Once the work is done, mark the project complete from your dashboard, then leave a public rating and review. Businesses can respond publicly to reviews they receive.
